Buying or Selling a Berth Licence

When you purchase a berth at Mana Marina you purchase a “right to occupy’ that is formalised in a Deed of Licence specifying the
terms and conditions for exercising that right. This is signed by the party purchasing the berth a Director of the Board of Mana Marina (Paremata) Ltd.

The costs of operating and maintaining Mana Marina fall on the Licenceholders. Licenceholder charges are determined each year and paid in two six month instalments invoiced in advance. The Marina company offsets the operating costs of the Marina (and thus the licence fees paid by
licenceholders) by earning revenue through renting the berths it owns, boat trailer parking, live-aboard fees, and fuel sales.

SELLING A BERTH THAT IS OCCUPIED BY A THIRD-PARTY RENTER

If a berth is being rented to a third-party the vendor must provide notice if the sale date falls within the notice period the vendor must have a written agreement with the buyer recording the arrangements regarding occupant rented.
